Rivalry When they were little, Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala were the best of friends. After they separated and the war progressed, Kira had joined the Earth Alliance, piloting one of the mobile suits, the Strike, that was developed in the colony, Heliopolis. He joined the Earth forces to protect his friends that was being aboard the ship. Athrun joined Zaft after the Bloody Valentine event to do his part. When Zaft came to the colony, he then met Kira, and stole the Aegis.Ever since that, Kira and Athrun would fight in space and at Earth. Athrun wanted him to join Zaft and that he was fighting on the wrong side. Kira refused and later on, they agreed they wouldn't hold back. So whenever the Le Krueze or Zala team encounters the Archangel, Kira and Athrun would go at it. Not the best summary of the rivalry, but that'll do. |
