Roughly after half a century of planning, a solar energy system that spans about 50,000 kilometers was built around three orbital space elevators.In order to construct the titantic structure, the majority of the world was consolidated into three power blocs: The international economic alliance centered around the United States, commonly known as the Union, the Human Reform League (HRL), which centered around China, Russia, and India, and the New European cooperative, AEU. Due to the immense size of the orbital elevataors, defending them is difficult. They are extremely fragile from a structural point of view. But even in such perilous times, the various blocks continued to play a large-scale, zero-sum game for the sake of their honor and prosperity. Even in the 24th century, the world has yet to unite as one. Now, a group of individuals act to force the world into unity. Equipped with mobile suits known as Gundams, they are the paramilitary organization, Celestial Being.
